Stephen Fry Exclusive: I Will NOT Be Addressing The Awards Diversity Row At The Baftas

Presenter Stephen Fry has said he won’t be discussing the hot topic of this year’s awards season during Sunday night’s Bafta awards.

Over recent weeks numerous celebrities and high profile figures have weighed in on the fact there there is a seeming lack of diversity at the Oscar nominations this year - compared to in 2014 for instance when 12 Years A Slave was nominated for nine awards and won three - including Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong'o.

But Fry, 58, had said that its ‘not an issue’ at the Baftas - which he has been fronting for 11 years - and that film-making should be rewarded on the ‘courage of producers’ and how much the public and voters enjoy a particular movie.

As always Mr Fry, quite right.

Watch the Baftas on BBC One at 9pm on February 14.
