Improvements for a route down to Watford Junction have been completed.

On Thursday (June 27) the borough council announced that the final upgrades to Bridle Path, which can be used to walk from the bridge over the railway in St Albans Road down to Station Road and the train station, are complete.

The path has been resurfaced and refurbished with the council painting and applying anti-graffiti coating to the hoarding alongside it. The project also involved removing timber upright posts, trimming back plants, and adding lighting improvements.

Watford Borough Council confirmed that the final section of the improvement works was completed this week, which involved installing a cycle tray and adding anti-skid surfacing to the steps down from St Albans Road.

The council shared images of the new-look stairs.

Phase one of the improvements took place in March 2023 and focussed on the area from the subway entrance to the Network Rail footpath before the bulk of the improvements were finished in December that year.
