Yahoo News Steve Cooper walks into first Leicester City transfer problem
Wilfred Ndidi reportedly has three contract offers from other clubs - including Premier League rivals Everton - though Leicester City hope he will renew his deal at the King Power Stadium.
The Nigerian international has been a City player for seven years now, making 273 appearances for the club while winning the FA Cup, Community Shield and EFL Championship title in that time. He last signed a contract extension a year after joining the club, with that now due to expire this summer.
When confirming their retained list for the upcoming campaign, Leicester announced they would continue their own negotiations with Ndidi while the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Marc Albrighton and Dennis Praet were allowed to leave. That fight is now proving to be a race against time, and made increasingly difficult by outside interest.

At 27, the midfielder would be considered hitting his prime years and so according to Santi Aouna, there are currently offers from Everton, Marseille and Lyon for Ndidi to continue his career elsewhere. A move to the former would be a particular blow for the Foxes, as Sean Dyche's side are one the club are expected to be fighting for survival with over the upcoming campaign.
The latest report also states AS Monaco's interest to complete a trio of suitors from Ligue 1, though yet without an official contract offer, as well as Sevilla in Spain, who at this stage are not expected to make an approach.
While all of this goes on, the journalist writes that City still retain their desire to keep the man who has been a great servant since signing for £15m from Genk seven years ago. Back in May, the man in question stated: "If a good chance comes, I won’t mind trying my luck elsewhere but for now I remain a Leicester City player."
The fresh appointment of Steve Cooper as the club's new manager is now hoped to truly spearhead the start of full preparations for the new campaign, and should also provide Ndidi with a clearer picture of the club's direction so that he can form a conclusion to his own matters.
