A local businessman is launching a two-day musical festival this weekend with tribute acts performing hits from Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Abba, Queen and more. One Small Weekend, a festival for the community, will be hosted at Abbey Hulton Football Club.

The event, organised by the owner of sandwich shop Funky Fillers in Werrington, promises to be an unforgettable experience. Music lovers can look forward to a show-stopping line-up with award-winning tribute acts.

One Small Weekend has teamed up with University of Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust - which runs the Royal Stoke University Hospital - and the Macari Foundation. Money raised throughout the festival will ensure the local charities can carry on the selfless work they both do for people in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.

Jason Edwards, owner of Funky Fillers, said: “I love my city and the people in it. That’s why I’m doing this. There are two things about the people of Stoke-on-Trent, they love a good time and they will help anyone who needs it. So I thought, why not put the two together? People can have a great weekend while helping out those in need.”

Doors open at 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s line-up includes Pink tribute Stacey Squires, Ashley Stevens as Taylor Swift, Kylie as Kylie Minogue and Jack Bowater performing hits from Ed Sheeran.

Sunday’s line-up includes Tina Turner tribute Jen Love, UK Bjorn performing ABBA hits, Trisha McCluney as Cher and a Queen tribute band, Forever Queen. DJ Groove-on-Trent will be there throughout both days, as well as a bar and food vendors.

Weekend tickets are £49.50 for adults, and for children under 16, £27.50. A day ticket for adults is £27.50 and for children, £16.50. Under-16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The event is sponsored by local companies Smart Electrical Installation, Sell The Car Ltd and Premier Hire Ltd. For more information and to buy tickets, click here to head to the event's website.
