Twitter feud lovers can relax – it seems publicly sparring with someone on social media is just as much of a thing in this decade as it was in the one we’ve just wrapped.

On the first day of 2020, Wiley took aim at Stormzy’s recent collaboration with Ed Sheeran, Own It, and dismissed Stormzy’s claim that he had turned down Jay-Z’s involvement on another track with the Shape Of You hitmaker.

“I’m old,” Wiley, 40, began, tagging the 26-year-old rapper directly. “But you was tryna work with jay z who Ed brought in the room Cos if it wasn’t for Ed that session would not of happened lol your not with us your with them #Pagan.

“I am 10 years younger than jay z and I will merc you everyday of the week #YourEasy #TooEasy.”

Stormzy replied, suggesting Wiley must be “doing crack” because he sends him friendly private messages “all the time”.

“Arguing on the net has never been my style,” Stormzy added.

“You ain’t ready for smoke mike your a star go be a star and mind your bizness on this 1,” the older rapper clapped back. Stormzy answered: “I was minding my business you weirdo, you say my name everyday you’re mad weird, all I do is show you love and respect, you old mcs are so weird.”

“Bro we can link up and talk I will never shy away from a reasoning,” the Wearing My Rolex singer pleaded, as Stormzy joked: “Shut up man no one wants to link you you dinosaur lol.”

Stormzy ended the spat by saying how mad he was that Wiley drew him into a “cussing match” and that he’s got about “15 years of practice” to become as good an MC as Wiley is.

Stormzy previously revealed that Jay-Z wanted to perform alongside him on Sheeran’s song Take Me Back To London on The Jonathan Ross Show – but that the younger rapper didn’t think it was the right single for them to team up on.

“I was like, ‘I love this song but you being on the song changes everything. You are the most brilliant, busy man and I will probably never get this opportunity ever again but hand on my heart, I don’t think this is the right song for us,’” he recalled.
