The Anime Awards 2023 mark the event's seventh outing, after first being presented in January 2017. They feature two rounds of voting; with a voting body compiling initial longlists, before public voting opens in the weeks before the event.

Last year, Attack on Titan's Final Season: Part One took home Anime of the Year, with previous winners including Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer.

March is shaping up to be a big month for anime fans generally, with the much-anticipated Demon Slayer season 3 airing its premiere episode in cinemas on March 9.
