Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed actor Nigel Harman as the latest celebrity to join this year's line-up.

The EastEnders and Casualty star was announced as joining the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 cast today (August 9) on ITV's Lorraine.

"As the days have crept up, I've been like: 'What am I doing?'" he told Christine Bleakley, who was filling in for Lorraine Kelly during her annual summer break.

"I'm excited to be out and proud now," Nigel added.

Harman is the latest star to be confirmed for Strictly, with Paralympian Jody Cundy, former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and EastEnders star Bobby Brazier announced as joining the line-up yesterday.

Also taking part in the new series are BBC Asian Network breakfast show presenter Nikita Kanda, Emmerdale and Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas, Love Island's Zara McDermott, Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington, Bad Education star and West End actor Layton Williams, TV presenter Angela Scanlon, journalist Angela Rippon, news anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and comedian Eddie Kadi.
