Strictly Come Dancing has reached the grand final week, with just three couples still in the running to be crowned series champions. The Glitterball Trophy is in sight and everyone has got their eye on who is going to win Strictly?

But now bookies William Hill think they have identified an overwhelmingly likely winner, as Ellie Leach looks unstoppable as Saturday approaches. Strictly viewers know that an upset is always possible, whether owing to injury, error or a change of heart amongst the voting fans. Can Layton Williams or Bobby Brazier threaten Leach's bid for the title, or will the result be exactly as the bookies predict?

Why is Ellie Leach such a strong favourite to win Strictly?

Former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach was identified as the most likely winner a while back now - despite not being the highest scorer in the competition.

She and partner Vito Coppola have certainly been up there on the leaderboard most weeks and in the semi-final achieved a 37 and a 38 for their first week performing more than one routine.

But they've often been second to Layton Williams and his partner Nikita Kuzmin, who are the only couple to have scored perfect 40s so far this year.

Some viewers have complained that Williams should not win as they think he is at an advantage because he has starred in West End shows, including the Billy Elliott musical and Everybody's Talking About Jamie.

Meanwhile, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and his partner Dianne Buswell are the outsiders to win as despite improving each week, they have not scored as highly as the other two couples.

Viewers also seem to have loved an apparent blossoming romance between Leach and Coppola, who are rumoured to be dating but have not confirmed anything.

However, in previous years couples may have impressed in the final by putting in unexpectedly good performances, while in 2021 AJ Odudu was heartbroken to have to drop out just days before with an ankle injury.

It's all still to play for this weekend as the couples battle for the Glitterball Trophy.

Strictly is on BBC One on Saturday 16 December at 7pm.
