Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Jamelia Claims The Show Is Fixed

After being in the dance-off a whopping five times, Jamelia was eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday night when she was up against show favourite, Peter Andre.

Despite getting a higher score than Peter on Saturday’s show, three out of the four judges decided to save the father-of-three, sending singer Jamelia home.

Now, the star has hinted that the BBC show is fixed, with the judges and production team acting in Pete’s favour.

Speaking on Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two, Jamelia explained: “I think we did a great last dance.

“But it wasn’t until they re-recorded Pete’s standing ovation, I’d say that was the moment we knew we were going home.”

With crew opting to re-record the audience giving Peter a standing ovation before the judges had even made their decision, it’s easy to see how Pete could have been being favoured.

This isn’t the first time that the show has been accused of favouring the singer this year either, with former professional dancer, James Jordan, hitting out at the show in earlier weeks.

Live-tweeting the show, the star tweeted: “I love Peter but I wonder if he will open or close every show? Fairness.”

A spokesperson for the BBC insisted that the show wasn’t fixed to save Pete, telling The Mirror: “Following Peter’s performance in the dance off, for which he received a standing ovation from the audience, continuity shots were taken during a break in filming to reset the dance floor.

“These extra opportunities to capture audience reaction are standard practice in recording TV shows of this nature.”
