Strictly Come Dancing 2016: Lesley Joseph Teases An ‘Exciting’ Announcement

You might spot Lesley Joseph at the dry cleaner’s today, as she selects her glitziest outfit ahead of the announcement of her long-rumoured involvement in Strictly Come Dancing 2016.

The Birds Of A Feather star – who would be one of the oldest contestants to dance in the BBC ballroom after Paul Daniels, 72, and Johnny Ball, 74 – joined Twitter after it was confirmed that the final four celebrity competitors would be officially announced today (Aug 22).

Over the weekend it was revealed that one more celebrity name would be unveiled on Scott Mills’ Radio One show this afternoon, with the final three famous faces being unmasked on The One Show later this evening.

Meanwhile, Lesley posted a sparkling glitter GIF on Sunday (Aug 21) alongside a tweet, which read: “Busy day tomorrow. Thanks for the love all.”

Just this morning (Aug 22), she added: “Today’s a VERY exciting day!”

Her fans seemed to have cracked the (not so cryptic code) already, with one writing: “@TheLesleyJoseph that’s very @BBCStrictly darling.”

As another wrote: “@TheLesleyJoseph have you got your glitter dress ready?? #excited!!”

If the 70-year-old actress takes to the dancefloor this autumn, she will be joining a flock of eleven other celebrities who have already been confirmed for Strictly 2016, including Ed Balls, Will Young, Laura Whitmore, Ore Oduba, Melvin Odoom, Louise Redknapp, Danny Mac, Daisy Lowe, Naga Munchetty, Anastacia and Olympian Claudia Fragapane.

Strictly Come Dancing begins on September 3 on BBC One, with a pre-recorded launch show that pairs the celebrities with their professional partners.
