Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Jones has revealed that she left a massive bruise and scratches all over partner Seann Walsh’s back during rehearsals.

Jones admitted that her dance partner, who she was pictured kissing earlier this month, was left paying the price physically for their packed Charleston routine.

Speaking on spin-off show It Takes Two, Jones said: “He’s got massive bruise and scratch on his back from walking up. Seven out of ten [times] it didn’t work.

“And then he hurt his knee as well. I was just not giving up. I was like ‘we are doing this’.”

Walsh added: “I was injured, that’s how brave I am.”

Reigning Strictly champion Jones quipped: “it wasn’t me standing on the shoulders who was brave!”

The couple, who have both apologised for their boozy indiscretions, came out on Saturday night for their “dance of shame” in the form of a Charleston to Lunchmoney Lewis’ Bills.

The high-energy routine, which was choreographed with the usual outside help for the 1920s dance, included risky lifts and frantic footwork throughout.

Walsh and Jones scored 28 from the judges before being sent through to next week by the public, despite having been favourites to go out.

This week they will perform the Quickstep to Lightning Bolt by Jake Bugg hoping to survive another week.

It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6.30pm on BBC Two. Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.54pm on BBC One.
