Strictly Come Dancing fans slam 'rude' Shirley Ballas after she insults host Claudia Winkleman

Strictly Come Dancing fans have lashed out at new head judge Shirley Ballas, with viewers being left stunned when the star insulted the show’s host, Claudia Winkleman, during last night’s results show.

Shirley was branded a “rude b****” after she grabbed hold of Claudia and corrected her posture as the judges discussed the celebrities’ Saturday night performances.

Speaking about Alexandra Burke’s Halloween routine, Shirley explained: “She was slightly off balance but because she had such an amazing central line here she was able to save it and come off quite gracefully.”

Addressing Claudia, the judge continued: “Can you stand up for a moment because you do slouch a little bit, so we’ll just have you stand up.”

As she stood, Claudia remarked: “That’s a brave thing to say”, with an undeterred Shirley going on to place her hands on the presenter’s stomach and back, continuing: “The central part of the body is here, it’s like a fuse box and if one part of the fuse goes out, the arms can be limp or the legs don’t work or you slouch.

“So you have to pull in your fuse box, flatten your chest, feel like you’re being pulled up by your ears, and now you should be able to sit down nice and straight.”

She added to Claudia: “Copy me, darling”, as she sat back down on the sofa.

Taking to Twitter, unimpressed viewers slammed Shirley’s conduct, writing:

Responding to the backlash, Shirley hit back: “Claudia has an amazing sense of humour, I have been called worse.”

Claudia added on her Twitter page: “I absolutely love @ShirleyBallas , we were laughing throughout”.
