A Paso Doble to Beyoncé, a street dance to Vogue and a salsa to Uptown Funk - it can only mean Strictly Come Dancing’s annual Blackpool special.

For one weekend only, the star-studded dance competition will decamp to the home of ballroom, where the remaining seven couples will vie to impress judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.

The celebrities and their partners will all perform live routines in the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Michelle Visage and Giovanni Pernice have opted for a street and commercial routine to the Madonna classic Vogue, while Alex Scott and Neil Jones will perform a Paso Doble to Beyoncé’s empowering anthem Run The World (Girls).

Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke will keep things classic with an American Smooth routine to Let’s Face The Music and Dance while Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse will be jiving to Jailhouse Rock.

The judges’ scores will be combined with the public vote to determine which two couples must go head to head in the dance off in Sunday night’s results show.

Last week saw BBC presenter Mike Bushell and his partner Katya Jones leave the competition after they faced off with Visage and Pernice in the bottom two.

Discussing her recent stint on the show in an interview with BBC Breakfast earlier today, Jones admitted that Twitter trolls had made this series “hard” for her.

Praising her partner’s performance, she said: “You were absolutely brilliant about it and, no matter what, he came in every Monday smiling and just like ‘Right, I have got to put another fight on.’

“He was absolutely brilliant. And, of course, there has been in the beginning quite a few… there were hard days, wasn’t it [sic]?

“Just people saying things. So I just deleted the Twitter and that was brilliant after that. When it’s not in front of you it doesn’t exist so I just got rid of it.”
