Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli will skip Saturday night’s live show and be replaced by Alfonso Ribeiro.

Tonioli, 63, is also a judge on Dancing With the Stars in the United States and will miss out on filming due to prior commitments.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air actor, who won Dancing With The Stars in 2014, is set to take his place alongside fellow panellists Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.

Ribeiro, 48, proved a hit with audiences when he replaced Tonioli for one week during last year’s series.

Speaking during last night’s results show, Tonioli promised that his replacement would be “even more energetic.”

“Alfonso has been briefed and he is going to be even more energetic than me!” he said.

“You are going to have so much trouble, I am telling you. I am coming straight back and I will be back firing on all cylinders.”

Dev Griffin and Dianne Buswell became the third couple to leave the competition last night after failing to win over the judges in the dance off.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter and his partner, who danced a Cha Cha to Dancing With A Stranger by Sam Smith and Normani, went up against Viscountess Emma Weymouth and Aljaz Skorjanec, who jived to Kids in America by Kim Wilde.

After the other three judges chose to save Viscountess Weymouth and Skorjanec, head judge Ballas admitted that she too would have picked them over Griffin and Buswell.

Saturday night’s show saw CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual and partner Amy Dowden top the leaderboard for the first time with a score of 38.

Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse came in second place with 36 points after leaving the judges lost for words with their rumba.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday, October 19 at 6.40pm on BBC One.
