Strictly Come Dancing professionals Dianne Buswell and Vito Coppola have shared how they adapt to different celebrities' personalities following the Giovanni Pernice and Amanda Abbington controversy.

Pernice was recently confirmed not to be returning to Strictly's cast after leaving early last series when his celebrity partner Abbington quit, later complaining of his treatment of her during training. BBC are investigating and Pernice has denied any "suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour".

Buswell and Coppola talked about the need to change their teaching style to suit their partner and added how excited they were to have Amy Dowden back on the show too.

In the wake of the Pernice and Abbington drama, This Morning host Ben Shephard asked the pair whether they had experienced celebrity partners who really struggled with the "pressures" of training.

Buswell explained she would change her teaching method to match the celebrity she is partnered with. She said: "Definitely I change my teaching style with every celebrity I'm given. They're all so different they all have different qualities about them and it's about getting to know them and you really do understand how to teach them in the right way.

"So it changes year on year, I think that's why I love it so much. It's so interesting, it's never the same. I love that part about it."

Coppola agreed saying he mirrors his celebrity partner. He said: "Our way of teaching is mirroring so I know who I have in front of me and we are able to adapt our way of teaching. It's like a dress, on you it's completely unique. This one is not going to be the same as last year."

The dancing duo are both going to be starring as professional dancers for Strictly 2024 once again and they shared their excitement about being a part of the next series. Last year, Buswell had made the final with her partner Bobby Brazier and no doubt the competition will be just as fierce this year.

Coppola shared it is incredibly special to be starring on Strictly this year because Dowden's return has finally been confirmed after the dancer's battle with cancer. He said: "This season's going to be special because Amy's back."

Buswell shared her delight at returning to the show as a pro dancer. She said: "It's going to be my eighth year but it still feels like my first. The excitement is so real, I love it."

Coppola added: "I cannot wait to start, I feel like the kid before the Santa at Christmas."

Buswell explained: "You have little kids watching to grandma and grandpa, there's something for everyone. There's not many shows around that you can sit with your grandma, grandpa, cousins, sisters and enjoy the show together. It's a real family show."

Coppola revealed Strictly had completely transformed his life. He added: "My life has changed completely. I couldn't have imagined it would be like this. It's just mindblowing."
