'Strictly's Anton Du Beke has no sympathy for Seann Walsh and Katya Jones

Strictly Come Dancing veteran Anton Du Beke has said that he has no sympathy at all for Seann Walsh and Katya Jones, following the fall out of their much-reported clinch.

Contestant Walsh and his pro-dancing partner were caught by cameras kissing after night out in London.

Jones is married to fellow Strictly dancer and choreographer, while Walsh was in a five-year relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries, which has now ended.

Du Beke, who with partner Susannah Constantine was voted off the show in its second week, has said he’s ‘disappointed’ with what went on.

Speaking on The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio 1 in Ireland, he was aksed if he had any sympathy for the scrutiny the pair are being subjected to.

“Not really. I’ll tell you one thing, I’m a bit disappointed,” he said.

“I don’t know how they’re going to resolve it in their relationships but it’s their business and they must do that.

“I am disappointed on many levels… listen, don’t drink – if that’s what happens? Stop.”

Du Beke follows previous show winner Ore Oduba in condemning the pair’s conduct.

He told Metro: “I just want the show to get back to people watching the dancing, it’s a shame it goes away from what everybody loved about the show.

“Good luck thinking about anything else other than the routine,” he added, “because that is a sure fire way to leave.”

Their view clashes with that of judge Craig Revel Horwood, however.

Of the so-called ‘Strictly Curse’, he told Jonathan Ross: “I think of it as a blessing, actually.

“When you think of the success stories. Obviously the point you’re making in question is very, very different because one person is married, the other one had a girlfriend but my point in this entire thing is, if you come on Strictly, sometimes you are in a relationship that is not working anyway.”

The pair will dance a Charleston on this weekend’s show.
