Giovanni Pernice has firmly denied the latest accusations levelled against him while vowing to clear his name.

The 33 year old Italian dancer addressed the issue on social media in the early hours of Sunday, denouncing "totally untrue stories" and expressing gratitude for the support he continues to receive amid the ongoing BBC probe.

Giovanni, who will be noticeably absent from this year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing, has found himself at the centre of a swirling controversy for some time now due to claims regarding his conduct during his previous appearance on the renowned BBC dance show claims he has vehemently denied.

He was previously paired with actress Amanda Abbington, who left the competition early and subsequently disclosed that she suffered from PTSD. Following grievances lodged by Amanda and other past celebrity dance partners, it is understood that the BBC initiated an internal inquest.

Further allegations surrounding Giovanni's supposed conduct on the set of Strictly surfaced again on Saturday night, but the professional was quick to refute them. Posting to Instagram in the early hours of Sunday, Giovanni broadcasted a communique to his audience, reports the Mirror.

The champion, known for securing the Glitterball trophy alongside Rose Ayling-Ellis in 2019, declared: "To my fans and followers, Every week, there are totally untrue stories about me in the media. As you know, I have always rejected any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour. The latest accusations are simply false."

"I am cooperating fully with the ongoing BBC investigation, which will determine the truth. As requested, I have stayed silent, but I am looking forward to the conclusion of the investigation and ultimately clearing my name and establishing the truth. I am so happy to be back on tour. Thank, you all for your continued support your messages and love mean so very much to me. I will hopefully see many of you very soon and I look forward to clearing my name. With love, Giovanni."

Duncan James from Blue was quick to offer his support, commenting: "Stay strong my friend. The truth always comes out in the end. Sending u love my bro."

Meanwhile, TV personality Gillian McKeith added her encouragement, writing: "Stay strong. Your dedication and incredible talent will always shine brighter," followed by a message from a fan: "Stay strong Gio. We love you. Xxx."

In the latest developments surrounding the Strictly Come Dancing cast, it appears that Giovanni Pernice's name has been excluded from the roster of professional dancers returning for the new series. Following his sudden exit from the iconic dancing show, Giovanni uploaded a video to his Instagram Stories, showcasing his return to dance practice.

The footage reveals Giovanni energetically leading several group dance workshops. His post, adorned with just three heart emojis, boldly conveys to his followers that he has no intention of relinquishing his passion for dance.

Additionally, his update was echoed on the official Ballando social media page, drawing a flood of enthusiastic comments from fans eager to witness Giovanni back in his dancing element.

This comes amid speculation that he might not return to the show in 2024, as his name was conspicuously absent from an internal memo listing this year's professional dancers. Giovanni first joined Strictly in 2015 and made it to the final with Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote.

His crowning moment came when he won the competition with EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, who made history as the first deaf contestant to win the show.

Giovanni has previously denied any allegations of "abusive or threatening behaviour" and has shown a keen interest in clearing his name. The legal team for those making complaints against him has indicated that the broadcaster is "gathering evidence"; however, the BBC has not yet confirmed whether an investigation is taking place.
