'Strictly's Neil Jones almost gave a very awkward answer on 'Celebrity Mastermind'

Could it be that Strictly Come Dancing pro-dancer Neil Jones still has a certain pre-Christmas marital incident on his mind?

Jones appeared on Celebrity Mastermind last night, and one near-answer in particular raised a few eyebrows among viewers and Strictly fans.

To recap, Jones’ wife Katya, another pro-dancer on the hit BBC show, was teamed with stand-up comedian Seann Walsh on the most recent series.

But during a break from their training sessions, the pair were snapped by paparazzi kissing after a night in the pub.

It lead to the demise of Walsh’s long-term relationship, but the Joneses remained steadfast.

Mind you, last night, he appeared to recall the trauma, with viewers convinced he was about to say ‘Seann Walsh’ for one of his answers.

Quizmaster John Humphrys asked Jones: “Which Bolton-born comedian provides the voice of PC Macintosh in Wallace and Gromit: The Curse Of The Were Rabbit?”

To which he replied: “Sean… nope.”

The answer was, of course, Peter Kay, but it didn’t go unnoticed.

Jones seemed to refer to the kissing incident in a New Year post on his Instagram page, explaining to followers how he’d ‘gained sooo many new friends but I also lost a few but I will never forget them [sic]’.

The whole row flared up once again prior to Walsh’s re-appearance for the show final.

In a stand-up set in London, Walsh reportedly quipped: “Before the show, the newspapers were complaining they didn’t know who I was.

“You know who I am now, motherf**ker. I’m the guy who kissed a gay man’s wife.”

In an Instagram Q&A with fans before Christmas, Jones was asked by a fan: “Are you back with Katya?”

Jones replied: “I’ve never been away from Katya.”
