Stroud man disqualified from driving after crash

A STROUD MAN has been disqualified from driving after failing to provide a specimen after a two-vehicle crash on the B4042 near Malmesbury yesterday (27/06).

Steven Adams, 40, of Sunnyhill, Cashes Green, Stroud, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker after being arrested following the collision.

The driver of the second vehicle and two passengers were taken to hospital for treatment on their injuries, which are not thought to be serious.

Adams appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning and pleaded guilty to the offences.

He was disqualified from driving for 24 months, to be reduced by 24 weeks if he completes a driving course.

He was also given a community resolution with 31 days of rehabilitation activities, and required to pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £114, fine of £140 and court costs of £85.
