Former Scotland captain Stuart Hogg has been soaking up the Turkish sun with his girlfriend ahead of his upcoming court appearance.

The 31-year-old and ITV racing pundit Leonna Mayor have shared pictures of their latest holiday on Instagram, having flown out to Antalya this week. The couple - who went public in November - have snapped themselves jet-skiing, sun-bathing and posing together in the sea during the luxurious holiday.

But the trip comes ahead of his imminent appearance in Jedburgh Sheriff Court, with reports suggesting that will happen this week. Hogg was arrested and charged following an incident at his estranged wife Gillian's house in February. He was reportedly arrested over allegations he caused fear and alarm by acting in a threatening or abusive manner at his former family home in Hawick, just hours after mingling with celebrities while watching Scotland's Six Nations win over England.

At the time, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.40pm on Sunday, 25 February, police were called to an address in Hawick. A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged. He was released on an undertaking to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

Hogg has made headlines largely for all the wrong reasons since retiring from rugby last summer, with his wife left "devastated" when he publicly revealed his relationship with Mayor just days after she had given birth to the couple's fourth child. In the wake of his marriage break-up, the former Exeter Chiefs man was the subject of a stream of online abuse and press speculation, which he said "crossed the line" in an angry online statement.

Following his arrest in February, the ex-full-back was absent from his punditry duties for TNT Sports for several weeks. But he revealed in a lengthy statement last month that he had spent time in rehab, admitting that he was "lost, needed help and required "time away from the spotlight".

"It's been tough," the statement read. "I was lost, needed help, direction, time away from the spotlight to be able to take a deep breath and think. I've been so concerned about what people thought of me, how I was coming across, the impact I would have on them and how I would survive the day. I lived every moment in my head and it wasn't healthy.

"Spending time at a rehabilitation centre allowed me to reset, learn about myself and talk about how I felt, without being judged. It's not been easy but it was the right thing to do. Taking accountability was the first step in the right direction. I accept I have made mistakes and understand why I acted as I did."

It continued: "Personal, private issues being played out in the public eye and online abuse are things that have impacted me significantly. I've not been able to deal with it. Online abuse is NOT OK. Having some time away has allowed me to see the world differently, be grateful for the things I have and most importantly, be excited about what is in front of me in the short, medium and long term.

"THANK YOU to everyone who has been in touch and offered support, friendship and love. You have helped me through the darkest of times and I will look forward to embracing what is next with you all. Hoggy."
