Succession's Brian Cox surprises Lorraine Kelly with a sweary birthday message
The actor turned the air blue as he got into character as Logan Roy to celebrate the presenter
What did you miss?
Lorraine Kelly had a surprise when Brian Cox wished her a sweary happy birthday in character as Logan Roy.
The TV presenter is a big fan of Cox’s hit show Succession and was clearly thrilled when he appeared on her ITV programme to mark her turning 64 on Thursday (30 November).
It was just one of several surprises for Kelly, who also received a host of other birthday messages and gifts as she celebrated the milestone.
What, how, and why?
As the show got under way, Cox walked out bearing a huge pink cake for Kelly.
“Oh this is too much!!!” she giggled as she spotted it. “Thank you so much!"
“What a lovely Happy Birthday," added the TV star.
The actor – whose famous small screen alter ego is known for barking “f*** off” – also bought Kelly a pair of huge white fluffy Moon Boots to keep her warm in the winter.
He then wished her a Happy Birthday with the expletives bleeped out.
“Lorraine, Logan Roy here," he said.
"Now a little birdie told me, I wouldn’t normally do this, not in a million years, but it's your birthday so well, I hope you have a Happy f****** Birthday."
Laughing, Kelly exclaimed: “He said it!”
She added that she wanted to get the unedited version.
What else happened on Lorraine?
Other stars also sent video messages to Kelly on her big day, with the likes of Take That appearing on the programme by video.
Singer Craig David, who the presenter is a huge fan of, said she was an “incredible, special human being” as he said he hoped she had a great day, adding: “You know how much I love you.”
“I love him so much,” said Kelly. She joked: “Listen, in another life…”.
She was also presented with gifts from Lorraine colleagues like Dr Hilary Jones, including some pyjamas covered in pictures of her beloved dogs.
