Sue Cleaver says despite her “resting b**** face” she’s actually very happy.

The 59-year-old star, best known for playing Eileen Grimshaw on 'Coronation Street' since 2000, may look miserable but doesn't want her icy exterior to fool anyone into thinking she’s as sad as she might appear.

The actress apologised for her frosty facial expression and blamed it on her “resting b**** face”.

Speaking on Sean Walsh’s podcast, ‘What’s Upset You Now?’, she said: “I’m really sorry if it offends you, but there’s not much I can do about that.

"Sometimes I’ve caught sight of myself in a shop mirror and I’ve thought ‘Oh my Lord, I look miserable’. I’m quite happy and jolly inside.”

One thing that did irritate Sue however was people claiming to be “dead funny”. It is one of her biggest pet peeves.

She added: “I can’t stand it. Invariably they’re not funny. It makes my ears want to bleed. I want to stab them through the heart. I’m really sorry, but that’s how I feel.”

Since appearing on the most recent series of ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’, Sue has opened her eyes to new experiences and is ready to take on more challenges.

Whilst reflecting on her life so far, Sue said her 50s has been the happiest decade of her life.

She recently said: “My 50s have been the happiest decade of my life. I’m happy with me and where I am, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the next decade brings.

“Then again, if it doesn’t bring anything, I’m just going to have to make something happen myself. Since doing I’m A Celeb, my eyes have been opened to all these new experiences. Now, I’m just thinking, ‘Right, what’s my next challenge?’ ”
