His legacy includes a hugely influential back catalogue of music, movies and pop culture references and the lingering mystery around his death.

The killing prompted a ‘whodunnit’ saga and the conspiracy theory that the rapper is still alive in Cuba after faking his own murder.

The culprit has never faced justice and now Suge Knight – an American record producer and noted American football player – has thrust the unsolved mystery into the limelight once more and claimed that he knows “who killed Tupac”.

Suge is a convict, who is currently serving prison time for murder and attempted murder for running over two men in Compton, LA.

However, back in 1991, he launched Death Row Records and signed Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac. He was with Tupac the night the star was gunned down and has launched a new conspiracy theory about the iconic 90s rapper’s death by claiming that he was the intended victim.

Suge believes his ex-wife and former security chief at Death Row Records was behind the set up. In a signed affidavit, his attorney Thaddeus Culpepper reportedly wrote that the record producer has known “for many years that Reggie Wright Jr. and his ex-wife Sharitha were behind the murder of Tupac and attempted murder of Knight”.

A new documentary ‘Tupac Assassination: Battle for Compton’ also makes the claims.

The film focuses on an attempted coup at Death Row Records which the documentary suggests eventually led to the shooting.

The Mail Online reports a source claims Knight backed the theories in the documentary and even tasked his own investigators to probe them.
