Sunderland Pride 2024 stage times as East 17 and Choriza May headline event

Last year the event was met with a deluge of rain and, while that didn't stop the fun, the weather is looking at lot more favourable for Sunderland Pride 2024. And it's just as well, as there's a lot to look forward to, including a headline set from 90s icons East 17.

Sadly for organisers, Mother Nature did not play ball at all last year, with revellers at Sunniside Gardens getting absolutely soaked as acts like Stooshe, Cheeky Girls, Kelly Wilde and Sonia entertained. After a week of decent weather more suitable for the time of year, rain looks set to stay away from this year's celebrations, which, in keeping with tradition, will start with a huge parade through the city centre.

And the march will pave the way for hours and hours of festivities, as the North East's own Drag Race icon Choriza May takes to the stage, along with the likes of dance diva Soraya Vivian and the Dazzlers from popular Sunderland city centre bar Bobby's, who will also be hosting the after party, with a guest appearance from Kim Woodburn.
