The Super Bowl is now just days away as a thrilling NFL season nears its conclusion.

One of the biggest annual events on the global sporting calendar, the game concludes the season and decides the identity of the NFL champions in front of an audience of millions and in usually spectacular and nerve-shredding fashion.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the defending NFL champions after their thrilling and controversial 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Arizona last February.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are back on the biggest stage this year after toppling the one-seeded Baltimore Ravens on the road and will play against the San Francisco 49ers after the latter produced a stunning comeback to beat the Detroit Lions.

The San Francisco 49ers will play the Kansas City Chiefs, following their respective wins in the NFC and AFC title games.

This year, the Super Bowl half-time show will be performed by R&B legend and eight-time Grammy winner Usher. Rihanna did the honours in Glendale 12 months ago.

Country music icon Reba McEntire, Post Malone and Andra Day have all been chosen as the pre-game entertainment, with McEntire to sing the national anthem.
