Supercomputer makes Birmingham City promotion prediction after League One fixtures reveal

A supercomputer has predicted Birmingham City will reign supreme in League One next season and return to the Championship as champions.

Blues discovered their fixtures for the upcoming League One campaign on Wednesday morning and a St Andrew’s bout with Reading is first up. Away matches at Wycombe Wanderers and Leyton Orient, plus a home fixture against Wigan complete the month of August.

Chris Davies will be hoping his team make a strong start to a season where they are expected to win promotion. Blues are favourites to win the League One title and are in the process of recruiting a squad that can grow with the club in the next few years.

Goalkeeper Ryan Allsop is the only player Blues have landed to date but more are expected in the coming days and weeks. It is worth pointing out, however, that Blues still have a number of high quality players contracted for next season.

And that is most probably why the Grosvenor Sport SuperComputer has backed Blues to clinch the League One title. It doesn’t think Blues will reach 100 points, though.

Blues finish on 96 points with 28 wins, 12 draws and six defeats from their 46 matches. Blackpool finish second with 93 points and the play-offs are made up of Lincoln City, Bolton Wanderers, Huddersfield and Peterborough.
