Yahoo News Supergirl snaps up House star as DC Comics baddie Reign
Supergirl might well meet her match next season in the form of House veteran Odette Annable.
Annable will be the DC TV Universe hit's big bad next season as the leader of an invading species of aliens known as the Worldkillers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Her character Reign has super-human speed and strength as well as the ability of flight, making her distressing evenly-matched with Kara (Melissa Benoist).
"[Producer Greg Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Odette for years," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said on Wednesday (May 31). "We are beyond excited to have her join our cast in the scary, powerful and heartbreaking role of Reign."

The Worldkillers were actually created as part of Kryptonian experiments-gone-wrong by Supergirl's own father Zor-El, so their battle with Kara will be doubly troubling.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look as if Supergirl will be able to count on her cousin Superman for help this time around. Cast member Tyler Hoechlin recently admitted that there's "nothing [planned] in the future" for the Man of Steel.
"Even just jumping in doing the first two episodes, at that time it was just those two episodes," Hoechlin explained. "I was very open and eager to go back up if that opportunity came up, and thankfully it did for the finale. I'm just taking it a day at a time at this point."
The invasion of the Worldkillers begins when Supergirl returns to The CW this autumn. Sky1 airs the series on the UK.
