Surrey General Election candidates 2024: Every candidate standing including Guildford, Woking, Reigate, Staines and Dorking
The General Election is fast approaching and 80 candidates across Surrey’s 13 constituencies are after your vote. Every one of Surrey’s 11 MPs before the election was elected as a Conservative but if polls are to be believed the county could be a lot more competitive this time
Due to boundary changes, 13 constituencies now contain parts of Surrey. 11 of these are fully in Surrey while the seats of Farnham and Bordon and Windsor also contain part of the county.
Long-standing Surrey MPs including Surrey Heath’s Michael Gove, Esher and Walton’s Dominic Raab and Epsom and Ewell’s Chris Grayling are all not standing for reelection meaning whatever happens the county will be sending a lot of new faces to Westminster.
Election polls and projections, including those from YouGov, Election Calculus and Election Maps all suggest that seats could change hands in Surrey this time around with even Chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s new Godalming and Ash seat thought to be under threat.
In Surrey, both the Liberal Democrats and even Labour will be hoping to take seats from the Conservatives while both the Green Party and Reform UK will be hopeful of securing significant vote shares.
Nationally Keir Starmer’s Labour will be hoping to form the national Government while Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Conservatives will be hoping to limit losses as much as possible.
SurreyLive will be reporting live throughout the night and the day after polling day, bringing you the results as we get them from our reporters at counts. For more news about the general election in Surrey, visit our page here.
