Susanna Reid defends Joe Lycett's 'Kuenssberg' appearance
Watch: GMB panel defend Joe Lycett over Liz Truss interview
Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis have defended comedian Joe Lycett's chaotic appearance on politics talk show Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg.
Lycett appeared on the show's debut episode alongside Labour politician Emily Thornberry and former Tory aide Cleo Watson and answered questions from Kuenssberg very sarcastically.
While Lycett was criticised by many including former BBC producer, Martin Lewis defended the comedian while hosting Good Morning Britain.

Lewis said: "You invite a comedian on a programme, expect them to do comedy. And whoever produced that, it was a big risk doing that on the first show when you have both the Prime Ministerial candidate and President Zelensky’s wife doing an interview."
Reid also said that Lycett made 'quite a point' when he mocked the new Prime Minister for saying we don't know what is going to happen in the future.
Reid added: "Liz Truss says an interview [that] we don’t know what’s going to happen. We know exactly what’s happening."
When appearing on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, the host asked Lycett about the strength of Truss' position with her at that point expected to be named Prime Minister.
Lycett replied sarcastically, saying: "I think the haters will say that we’ve had 12 years of the Tories and that we’re sort of at the dregs of what they’ve got available and that Liz Truss is the backwash of the available MPs.
"I wouldn’t say that because I’m incredibly right wing, but some people might say that."
When it was announced earlier today that Truss would replace Boris Johnson as Britain's new Prime Minister, Lycett took to Twitter to sarcastically congratulate her.
He wrote: "Yes @trussliz absolutely smashed it babe!!!"
Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg airs Sundays at 9am on BBC One.
