Sweet Magnolias star JoAnna Garcia Swisher has shared an exciting update on season four.
The show, which is based on the series of books by Sherryl Woods, was renewed for a fourth season in October — just three months after the third season dropped on Netflix.
Garcia Swisher, who plays Maddie Townsend in the romance drama, took to Instagram on Thursday (May 30) to reveal that filming for the upcoming season has now finished.
"That's a wrap on Season 4!" she wrote, alongside a smiling picture taken with her co-stars Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley.

"I cannot wait for you all to see what we have been up to in Serenity. It's been a magical season... for reasons I cannot wait to share."
The actor continued: "I always get a little emo when we wrap. It's bitter sweet [sic]. There is a huge sense of accomplishment for all the hard work, crazy hours, and time spent bringing this story to life. There is also an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
"The majority of our crew has been with us since the beginning. We have lived, loved, and laughed through a lot of life together. Even the newest members of our family have felt like we have known each other forever and they were that missing piece to making things just right."

On what fans can expect from the new season, Garcia Swisher added: "This was BY FAR my favourite season... not just for the OMG moments (there are many of them!), but because it was a joy to make. And, in many ways, it feels like we are just getting started.
"There are a million photos I can't wait to share when Season 4 streams, but until then I will leave ya with one of me and two of my favourite humans."
She concluded: "The three of us are just one piece of a world (on the screen and off) that make Serenity and @sweetmagnoliasnetflix what it is and we love getting to share it all with you!"

Sweet Magnolias follows lifelong best friends Maddie (Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Elliott), and Helen (Headley) as they juggle relationships, family, and careers in the charming small town of Serenity.
Season three notably ended with Dana Sue and her husband Ronnie (Brandon Quinn) renewing their vows, providing fans with a more conclusive ending compared to the cliffhangers of the previous two seasons.
Shortly after the finale aired, Headley teased to TVLine that there are more stories to explore in Serenity, saying: "The finale did have some closure, but if you dig in, you can see that there are still stories to come. There are other pieces that could be revealed."
Sweet Magnolias seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix.
