An RNLI lifeboat was launched to rescue a struggling swimmer off the Norfolk coast.

Russell Pickering set out to Eccles beach to save a "swimmer in difficulty".

The crew provided casualty care to the man while waiting for an ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle to arrive.

He was transported to the James Paget Hospital for treatment just after 10am on Friday.

The rescue followed another lifeboat launch on Thursday after a yellow object was spotted off the Happisburgh coast.

Due to fears it may be a dinghy, coastguard teams embarked on an hour-long search.

It was eventually called off when nothing was found and crews concluded it must have been a marker buoy.
