Sylvester Stallone has slammed rumours of his death as greatly exaggerated.

The Rocky and Judge Dredd star took to his Instagram to share a social media post about his 'demise', writing: "Please ignore this stupidity...

"Alive and well and happy and healthy... Still punching!"

Please ignore this stupidity… Alive and well and happy and healthy… Still punching!

The fake post claimed that Stallone had been hiding a battle with prostate cancer and had passed away, but luckily it hadn't gained too much traction before being debunked.

Another celebrity who had to assure fans they were still alive was Mark Hamill, who took the opportunity to make a cheeky Twitter post confusing fans and making a dig at his sworn enemies The Sith The Republican Party.

Stallone will be returning for the upcoming Creed sequel, but has stepped down from directing.

The film is set to feature the return of Ivan Drago – who may have one last fight with Rocky Balboa – and his son, who we're assuming is going to get in the ring with Adonis Johnson Creed, the son of Apollo Creed.

Sly said it wasn't as easy to perform fight sequences in movies as it used to be, but it looks like he's still having fun doing it so we don't think he'll be stopping any time soon.

Creed 2 will be released on November 21, 2018.
