Tamer Hassan has told of his relief after family members missing after the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria were found safe.

The British-Turkish actor had shared earlier this week that he had relatives unaccounted for after Monday's (6 February) quakes and aftershocks, which have killed more than 20,000 people in Turkey and Syria.

And he admitted in an emotional interview that he didn’t have much hope.

“We had some good news yesterday that my family have been found, in the early hours in the morning,” the Football Factory star said in another interview with GB News.

“We were told that they were found and they are safe and well, by the grace of God.”

“Thank you for everyone for the prayers and well wishes.”

The Batman Begins actor – who is the father of Love Island’s Belle Hassan - said so far he doesn’t have too much information but he does know that they have been found, which he said was “amazing”.

Hassan is currently based in Cyprus but has said that he is planning to go to Turkey to help with the relief efforts.

Writing on Instagram he shared a GoFundMe link so people could donate and urged his fans: “Please help our people in Turkey, donate whatever you can even if it’s a pound.

“I am on my way to help where I can.”

“Let’s help Syria too,” added the 54-year-old screen star.
