Teen due in court after woman, 36, allegedly assaulted at music festival

A teenager is due to appear in court after a woman was allegedly assaulted at a music festival this weekend.

The 18-year-old man was arrested and charged following an apparent assault on a 36-year-old woman during Sterofest Festival at Chatelherault Country Park in Hamilton.

The event and apparent incident took place on Saturday, May 4.

Cops said that there were no reported injuries.

The man is due to appear in court at a later date and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an assault on a 36-year-old woman at Chatelherault Country Park, Hamilton, on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

"There are no reported injuries.

"The man is due to appear in court at a later date and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
