Teen Dupes Jeremy Corbyn Into Signing 'Anti-Semite' Statement

Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn unwittingly signed a piece of paper that said “I support terrorists and I am an anti-Semite. Also I am on Iran TV payroll” after a campaign event in Gloucester on November 2.

The prank was undertaken by 15-year-old Thomas Chambers, who was filmed by his father, Alastair, as he asked Corbyn to sign a piece of paper as he greeted Labour supporters at an event at the University of Gloucestershire.

The footage shows Corbyn signing the folded document, which is then unfurled in front of the camera by the younger Chambers. The piece of paper also includes a mocked-up image of Corbyn wearing a jumper with a hammer and sickle on it.

Thomas Chambers told The Sun, “It was my idea. I thought it was a good idea to tell everyone. I was really surprised at the security, it was rubbish and I walked right to the front of the room after he had finished speaking, said hello to him and got him to sign the piece of paper.”

Alastair Chambers told The Sun he is a former Labour supporter. On December 12, when the UK goes to the polls, “I will be voting for Boris Johnson,” he said.

On October 30, the Jewish Labour Movement announced it would not campaign to make Corbyn prime minister, with a statement from the group claiming “a culture of anti-semitism has been allowed to emerge and fester” in the Labour Party since Corbyn became leader in 2015.

Speaking the day after the incident in Gloucester, Labour shadow chancellor John McDonnell told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show, “I just give this commitment to the Jewish community: we’re doing everything we possibly can and we will work with them.”
