Currently in the middle of filming its sixth season, the show has had a hell of a five years. With a constantly changing cast, Teen Wolf has had its ups and downs. The upsetting exits were made up for when new characters like Kira Yukimura (Arden Cho), Malia Tate (Shelley Hennig) and Liam Dunbar (Dylan Sprayberry) joined the show, filling the gaping hole in our hearts. But it’s Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), Stiles Stillinski (Dylan O’Brien), Lydia Martin (Holland Roden) Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) and Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) who have been close to our hearts since the very first episode. Here’s a look back at the five best episodes of the show so far.

Season 1, Episode 1: Wolf Moon

Like most pilot episodes, this one packs a whole lot in under an hour. It’s a full run-down of who’s who in Beacon Hills introducing loved characters like Stiles, Lydia, Allison and Derek. There’s a brief glimpse into Scott’s ordinary life before a werewolf bite changes it forever.

Season 3, Episode 6: Motel California

One of the best episodes of the show traps the characters in an overnight motel. The gang (alongside the cross-country team) are on their way to a game, but end up at a dodgy roadside motel in the middle of nowhere for the night. As the werewolves become increasingly destabilised by hallucinations, its up to their human friends to save the day. It’s a pulsing ride that makes you feel like you’re with them at every moment (hoping they don’t die), until the excruciating end.

Season 3, Episode 21: The Fox And The Wolf

Kira finds out that her mother is a 900 year old Kitsune (a supernatural fox). Delving into her past at a Japanese immigration camp, Cho plays the younger version of Kira’s mother in an episode that brings Japanese mythology into the already-complicated mix. In the present, Void Stiles takes over, an excuse to show off O’Brien’s amazing talent.

Season 3, Episode 23: Insatiable

Everything changes when one of the main characters dies a horrific, gut-wrenching way. Nothing is the same after this point in the show.

Season 4, Episode 1: The Dark Moon

The new and improved Teen Wolf swings back into action after the death of that character rocked up the show. Scott and his newly assembled ‘pack’ head off to Mexico to look for the Spanish hunter clan known as the Calaveras, who are hunting Derek. It’s filled with an awesome fight sequence, a witty Stiles and an interesting ending, setting up the rest of the season.
