Police and the Red Cross are to attend a 15-year-old girl’s birthday party after an online invitation went viral – and 1.2 million people have said they are coming.

Father Crescencio Ibarra made a video for daughter Rubi’s 15th, saying, that ‘everyone is cordially invited.’

He said, ‘Hello, how are you? We invite you this 26 of December to the 15th birthday party of our daughter, Rubi Ibarra Garcia.’

But the invitation was set to ‘public’ on Facebook – and rapidly went viral, with hundreds of thousands saying they would show up.

Actor Gael Garcia Bernal appeared in a TV sketch about the birthday – and police are going to deploy units on roads to prevent the celebration getting out of hand.

The Red Cross has also been alerted.

Crescencio said, ‘We wanted to invite the people from the area, that’s all.’
