Yahoo News Teenage Warhead's backstory could come to Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2 is currently shooting but sadly Fox didn't reveal any new footage from the meta-super-sequel at their Comic-Con panel yesterday.
Luckily Digital Spy did have a chance to sit down with one of the film's stars, Negasonic Teenage Warhead actress Brianna Hildebrand, while she was promoting season 2 of The Exorcist TV show, which she'll star in.
We asked her what she hoped to see from Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool 2 and she told us she'd be keen on a bit of backstory.
"I would just want to expand on Negasonic's character," she said. "Everyone knows she's moody but I don't think anyone really knows where that comes from. So I think that would be interesting to explore."
Teenage Warhead in the X-Men comics is completely different from the character in the movie. The two iterations have different skills, but also in the comics one of her defining characteristics is being dead (she's later brought back), which leaves Fox and writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, with Drew Goddard, pretty much open to build her whatever backstory they see fit.
And how about giving her a boyfriend? Would she be keen?
"Yeah that would be cool, sure," laughs Hildebrand. Bring it on.
Deadpool 2 will be released in cinemas on June 1, 2018.
