A teenager was reportedly stabbed with a garden fork during a street brawl which left two other youths injured.

Neighbours called police after seeing the fight between about a dozen young people in Hayes at 6pm on Tuesday night.

One other teenager suffered serious stab injuries. All three victims were taken by ambulance to different hospitals. One neighbour who left her flat in Hobart Lane to help the wounded said she fled back inside as a car was driven around the cul-de-sac at speed.

She said: “They were running people over, there were multiple people on the floor and the police told everyone to go back inside.”

Another resident said one of the teenagers had been stabbed in the back with a garden fork.

The mother of three, who has lived in nearby Hobart Road for 14 years, described hearing sirens and a “helicopter overhead so low it sounded like tanks”. She said: “This violence is far too close to home and my family. I don’t understand the mentality.

“I have three teenagers and so this type of stuff worries me about them going out.”

The Met said two teenagers, aged 19 and 18, were taken to hospital with stab wounds but their conditions were not life-threatening. Another young man suffered minor injuries after being hit by a car during the melee. There have been no arrests.
