A teenager was arrested and a bike seized as part of a crackdown on nuisance off-road bikers in a North East town.

Cleveland Police sprang into action when they saw an off-roader being ridden down Corby Avenue, in the Ayresome area of Middlesbrough on Friday night.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving with no licence, driving with no insurance and on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

He was interviewed and bailed while enquiries continue.

Neighbourhoods Sergeant Danielle Gibson said: “Police will continue to react to any information residents give us about bike nuisance in their local area.
