Teenager rushed to hospital following 'serious assault' near Erskine Bridge

A teenager was rushed to hospital over the weekend following a serious assault in Old Kilpatrick.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Saturday, May 18, after reports of an injured male in an area known as the Saltings near the Erskine Bridge.

The 16-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

Enquiries have established that he was attacked by a group of young males, with police now appealing to the public in a bid to identify those responsible.

Detective Constable Jack Muir said: “The motive for this attack is unknown and we are trying to establish the full circumstances of what happened. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident or who might have heard something about this incident to get in touch with us. If anyone has any recorded footage, please pass it on as it could assist us in identifying those responsible for this attack.”
