Teenagers invite elderly woman to hang out with them because she missed going out with her friends

A group of teenagers on a night out had no idea that they would make one elderly lady very happy with their kindness.

Mahri Smith, 18, was out with pals at a casino in Ottawa, Canada, and, like any other girls that age, they started taking pictures of each other in the bathroom.

But while they were taking photos, an elderly woman approached them and offered to take their pictures for them.

Taken back by the kind offer, Mahri got chatting with the woman, who told her how she missed going out with her friends.

So, Mahri asked her new friend to hang out with her group – and pose for a few photos.

The teenager told Buzzfeed: “She was complimenting our clothes like a teenager talking to us.

“She said ‘I remember when my girlfriends and I would get dressed up and go out. I miss that’.”

Mahri told the woman: “Why miss it, we are all out right now, aren’t we?”

The group then chatted with the woman before she left them to return to her husband, who was also in the casino.

Mahri added: “It was really nice. She just seemed like the nicest lady.”
