‘Britain’s sweariest man’ is jailed over foul-mouthed tirade about the Queen

A homeless drunk dubbed ‘Britain’s sweariest man’ is back behind bars after he launched an astonishing four-letter tirade about the Queen.

David Bellman, 45, earned his title after he was slapped with a criminal behaviour order banning him from cursing anywhere in Britain.

But he has now been jailed for 60 days after breaching the CBO for the sixth time while shouting abuse about Her Majesty to staff on the Newham Industrial Estate in Truro, Cornwall.

The potty-mouthed prisoner was also heard repeatedly swearing to himself as people tried to make their way to work last Wednesday morning.

Sergeant Marc Sayers described his behaviour as “very intimidating” and said workers had to find alternative routes into work to avoid being subjected to offensive rants.

Bellman was subsequently arrested and jailed at Bodmin Magistrates Court for 60 days – just one week after being released from prison for a previous breach.

The serial swearer was originally issued with a CBO by magistrates at Bodmin in July last year after he forced people to listen to a diatribe of vile language and used racial and homophobic words.

He was banned from swearing or being drunk anywhere in the UK and also banned entirely from Truro city centre.

But the order has failed and Bellman has been in and out prison ever since.

His latest stint was for 20 days after he was picked up by police outside a branch of NatWest bank in the city earlier this month.

Inspector Rick Milburn said Bellman was arrested last week for a racially aggravated offence and breaching his CBO after they received a call from a member of the public.

He said the person reported a man by the river shouting, waving his arms around and swearing offensive abuse which was perceived to be racist by the caller who alerted police.

Bellman continued with this behaviour even when he thought no-one was around.

Mr Milburn said: “It seems that Mr Bellman is unable to keep a civil tongue and has therefore been jailed for 60 days for his foul behaviour.

“I’m pleased that this swift action means that they community will not continue to be subjected to his mindless tirades.”
