The Terminal List prequel series adds The Umbrella Academy star

The Terminal List prequel series from Prime Video has added The Umbrella Academy star Tom Hopper to its cast.

According to TVLine, Hopper is set to star in the prequel series, which is titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, opposite Chris Pratt and Taylor Kitsch.

Per the character description, Hopper will star as Raife Hastings, a "hunter, protector, guardian and Navy SEAL."

Adapted from Jack Carr's book, the prequel series will follow Kitsch's character, Special Operator Ben Edwards, from The Terminal List as he journeys from Navy SEAL to CIA paramilitary operator.

Set five years before the events of The Terminal List, Dark Wolf will include characters from season one like Pratt's James Reece, Jared Shaw's Ernest "Boozer" Vickers, and Mohammed "Mo" Farooq.

Revealing the future of Pratt's The Terminal List last year, Amazon Studios and Prime Video confirmed the series would be getting the franchise treatment with its own prequel series.

According to Deadline, it was Pratt himself who put forward the idea of a spin-off prequel series during discussions about a second season.

Pratt will serve as executive producer for the upcoming prequel alongside Kitsch. Also taking on executive producing duties are showrunner David DiGilio, executive producer Antoine Fuqua and Jack Carr.

Previously speaking about his long-term hopes for The Terminal List, Pratt told Digital Spy: "Well, Jack Carr's written five extraordinary books. He's quite a prolific author, and they're all reaching the top of the New York Times' Best Seller list. I think it'd be fantastic to keep it going."

Meanwhile, Pratt said on Carr's Danger Close podcast: "To the rabid fans of The Terminal List out there, you have nothing to worry about. We love you and appreciate your support. It's our life's mission to make sure you can come back to the well. We are working away."

A release date for The Terminal List: Dark Wolf has not yet been announced.
