Tesco is set to overhaul its Clubcard loyalty scheme, offering some shoppers the chance to win up to £100 worth of points. The supermarket giant is inviting three million customers to participate in "Clubcard Challenges", which involve 20 personalised tasks such as "spend £20 on our Summer barbecue range over the next six weeks" or "spend £10 on plant-based meals".

Customers can select the 10 tasks they most want to complete and will receive a maximum of £50 worth of extra Clubcard points upon completion.

However, these additional points can be doubled to £100 if spent with a Tesco reward partner. Over 100 reward partners are available, including Cineworld, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Zizzi.

The "Clubcard Challenges" will commence on May 20 and last for six weeks.

In collaboration with EagleAI, Tesco aims to deliver personalisations for the new scheme. Lizzie Reynolds, group membership and loyalty director at Tesco, stated: "We are constantly looking for ways to make Clubcard work harder for our customers. With Clubcard Prices on around 8,000 products, it is saving customers up to £360 off the annual cost of their groceries.", reports the Mirror.

Tesco customers have been issued a warning about a fraudulent email that's circulating, which falsely offers a £500 gift card. The scam involves an email that directs recipients to a suspicious survey site, where they're prompted to answer questions for a chance to "win" a Tesco gift card.

However, the promised gift card is non-existent, and the email is not affiliated with Tesco at all. Instead, it's a ploy by scammers to harvest personal and financial information.

Consumer watchdog Which? has highlighted this scam in its latest round of scam alerts.

The scam email entices with the message: "Win a £500 Tesco Gift Card! Shop til you drop with this generous gift card from Tesco, your one-stop destination for groceries, household essentials and more. Enter now for your chance to indulge in a shopping spree! "

A representative from Tesco has responded to the issue, stating: "This online competition is fake and has nothing to do with Tesco. We are investigating this and urge customers to remain vigilant to these types of scams and phishing emails."
