The Grand Tour releases its first full trailer

It’s been over a year since Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May stepped down from Top Gear, and revealed that they would be creating a new motor series for Amazon Prime.

Set for release on 18 November, The Grand Tour’s first full-length trailer promises an adventurous caper around four continents, and also features “a minor” fire, a reluctant camel and a fractured arm. Yikes!

The trio appear to share the same camaraderie as before, with James and Richard both making fun of Jeremy when he turns up dressed in a cream suit, asking: “Wow, Roger Moore isn’t here!”

Engaging in some top banter, Jeremy, who is not known for his dress sense, replies: “Looking good is more important than looking where you are going”, to which James adds cheekily: “When are you going to do that then?”

Jokes aside, they seem to have taken advantage of their immense budget – estimated at a staggering £4.5m per show – as the high-octane trailer shares a series of explosive action clips.

So maybe Roger Moore should have been there, as in true James Bond style, there’s a tank blowing up a car, an ultra tense helicopter chase and Jeremy speeding past on a jet ski.

Jeremy was sacked by the BBC for his “unprovoked physical and verbal attack” on a Top Gear producer in March, but has since explained that he and his co-stars are glad to be moving on: “Now we’re looking at losing Top Gear as a fantastic thing to happen,” he said earlier this year.

The first episode of The Grand Tour launches on November 18, on Amazon Prime Video, with new episodes released every Friday for 12 weeks.
