The Masked Dancer has unmasked Candlestick as Junior Great British Bake Off judge Liam Charles.

The baker-turned-TV-presenter had the judges baffled with his Tik Tok references and impressive dance skills, but Jonathan Ross had gathered enough crumbs of evidence to correctly guess his identity before he was unmasked.

Charles, 25, told host Joel Dommett: "I promise you I have zero dance experience."

He admitted he had not let on his identity even to close friend and family because: "I wanted it to be a massive surprise, because no one would expect me to do something like this!"

He added that keeping his secret had been: "Not that hard to be honest, when I entered GBBO, I kept that a secret for ages."

Charles said of his costume: "Really loved Candlestick, the more I wore it, the more I loved it. I feel like a superhero."

He said of the anonymity: "I actually really love it, I feel like there is less pressure."

And added the highlight was: "The buzz just before I was about to perform."

Judge Mo Gilligan was shocked when Charles - who also hosts Bake Off: The Professionals - took off his mask, shouting: "I know him! How did I not get it was you?! You're really good, you know that?"

Charles - who was a contestant on Bake Off in 2017 before landing a role judging the junior version on Channel 4 - revealed his Tik Tok and time references had all been about the time calls on the show, telling bakers they had "Five minutes left".

Candlestick was in the bottom two with Onomatopoeia, who the judges were all convinced was former Doctor Who star David Tennant.

But viewers will have to wait until next week to find out if they were right.

Seaslug was tipped to be Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington, while viewers on Twitter are convinced Scissors is former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Still in the competition are Odd Socks and Pearly King.

The judges noticed Pearly King is hiding a strong accent under his mockney voice, but their guesses of Italian chef Gino D'Acampo or ex Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli appeared to be far off the mark.
