His time as a Faithful was cut very short.

The Traitors contestant Aubrey Emerson treated himself to a parting gift from the set after being 'killed off' in the second episode of series two.

Having spent much of his screentime telling the others how cunning he was, the retired shop owner's stint as a Faithful met an abrupt end as the Traitors identified him as their biggest threat.

Following his early exit, Emerson admitted to The Mirror that a "stunning" time device in his bedroom just had to come home with him.

"We got given these lovely little alarm clocks in our rooms, just stunning with lovely letters on them," he said. "You don't know the time in there and we have no watches etc - I had no idea what day it was, it could have been Christmas Eve and I wouldn't have known.

"I did say to producers, 'Can I take this alarm clock with me?' I was told something would get back to me... well they didn't so it's now in my bedroom. It's fabulous. It's very fancy, just like me."

As for the food on display at breakfast time, Emerson claimed "it wasn't the best" quality, while also suggesting that the programme's jaw-dropping Ardross Castle setting could do with a slight change.

"The castle was always so full of smoke, it was like a chimney had just been cleaned," the TV star recalled. "Everyone would say, 'Oh it adds to the atmosphere' but they just needed to open a window!"

This comes after series one's John McManus revealed how most of the contestants are "too nervous" to eat any of the morning grub when the cameras are rolling.

Not only that, though, they apparently "get breakfast served to our rooms in the hotel, before the on-screen breakfast!"

The Traitors airs weekly on BBC One.
