The Traitors' viewers were devastated when fan favourite Diane was handed the poisoned chalice by Miles.

Pressure was mounting in The Traitors as the traitors were set a secret mission to murder in plain sight. First they had to find the poisoned chalice hidden in a book. Then they had to get one of the faithfuls to drink from the chalice in order to murder them, in front of the whole group. With all eyes on them, the trio of traitors were feeling the pressure but they eventually did find the chalice in the book.

Harry had joked he wished he could call his mum because "if she couldn't find it, no one would". "I think I'm good under pressure but the difference is we have a time limit," Harry said of the task. Once back with the rest of the group, the traitors were trying to act normal and murder with the whole group watching.

Miles decided to take on the challenge of handing out the chalice because he had already been serving drinks that night. He was sure people would remember he had handed out drinks anyway so he put himself in the firing line.

Viewers at home were upset to see the vet hand the chalice over to fan favourite Diane. Among the sea of comments, one fan wrote: "Seeing that chalice get handed over to Queen Di, Miles will never been forgiven." Another added: "NOT DIANE!!! Wasn’t rooting for them before and now I definitely want to watch these traitors go DOWN!"

The traitors have had the upper hand for some time. But Claudia Winkleman said the traitors were "laughing" at the faithfuls this episode after Anthony was banished and Tracy was murdered. Will the faithfuls realise what happened in front of their own eyes?

  • Fan favourite handed the poison chalice

Viewers at home were devastated when Miles handed the poisoned chalice to Diane. Miles had sold it as who wanted a fizzy wine as he didn't. Diane said she was up for it, meaning she was the faithful murdered in plain sight.

"Seeing that chalice get handed over to Queen Di, Miles will never been forgiven."

  • At first Miles, Paul and Harry struggled to find the book but eventually they discovered it. Harry joked about how he wished he could call his mum to ask for her help. "If she can't find it no one can," he said. With a plan, the traitors then headed back into the group to strike.

  • Where are Paul and Harry?

Everyone was asking where Paul and Harry were. They were out with Miles at the fire pit discussing their plans about who they were going to murder. The trio then slipped back into the Scottish castle to retrieve the chalices for the mission.

  • Traitors meet in plain sight

Miles was worried that it will be difficult for the three of them to gather to chat their game plan for murdering in plain sight. "Three of us will look suspicious I feel," he said. "But not impossible." Paul and Miles sneak away, having got away on the premise of wine. Harry was the latest to join the other two traitors at the firepit.

  • Traitors get secret mission

Claudia Winkleman gives the traitors a secret mission. "What is that?" Harry says in response to a letter. Miles looks uncertain on seeing the letter. "What on earth is going on?" Questions Paul as he too receives a letter in private.

The traitors must murder in plain sight and they will have no secret meeting. They must get one of the faithfuls to drink from the poisoned chalice. Who will they choose to murder in plain sight? Will they complete their mission without being caught?

Away from the rest of the group, Paul took Jaz aside to give him a good grilling over why he was bringing up his name at the roundtable. He told him Harry, who secretly is a traitor too, had already told him that Jaz suspected him. Hoping to squash the rumours, Paul said let's not look at each other as traitors.

He gave him a good grilling with the words: "I think we've gone past the point of battles and saying that s*** to each other. I want us to be tight. I want you to think that I'm a faithful and I want to think you're a faithful... If we're always looking at each other, then we're f****."

Jaz nodded along but he said in private in a piece to camera that he was not trusting Paul. "I get such a dodgy vibe from Paul," he said. Jaz was confused about why Harry had betrayed him. He added: "Why would Paul tell me Harry has done that? Why would Paul not share that information at the roundtable?"

  • Faithful Anthony is banished the game

Anthony is the latest faithful to be banished from the game. He stood up to reveal his true identity to the group. "This is indeed a wonderful game to play," he said. "Those of you who remain I hope you take the time to look around you. Try to see through the fog. In this game I have always been 100% faithful."

Everyone looks disappointed as another faithful left the game. They appear to be no closer to catching the three traitors in the game. "I tell you this, the traitors, they're laughing, sweet dreams," says Claudia Winkleman.

  • Votes are in

The votes are in. Claudia calls it so far saying: "Four for Anthony. Two for Zack. Two for Andrew. One for Jaz. One for Ross.

  • Who are the traitors at the roundtable?

The group are unable to agree on who they believe are the hidden three traitors. Diane pushes the game in a different direction as she tells the group she has eyes on Andrew.

Jaz has laid his cards on the table as he accused traitor Paul of being a traitor. "You've been considered the most popular amongst the group, and you're still here," Jaz said. He felt he would be an obvious choice to get murdered and feels the only reason he wouldn't be murdered is because he's a traitor. Paul hit back saying that he was disappointed Jaz still thinks it's him.

Jasmine however spoke up to say she didn't think it was Paul. She instead felt that the traitor could be Anthony. Anthony defended himself strongly and said that he felt the traitor really was Zack.

  • Claudia Winkleman opens the roundtable

Claudia Winkleman opens the roundtable as suspicions begun to bubble. She informed the group: "The prize fund currently stands at £49,550. You work so well as a team so can you do the same here? Have you worked out who is lying? Who would like to start?"

Charlie was the first to open the roundtable and she pointed the finger at Ross. She said it was one sentence that he said before Jonny went. "I feel awful about it," she said. But she said Ross had said "please don't tell Jonny".

Ross had no worries responding, saying that he was totally gutted about Jonny's exit. He explained: "I'm gutted not only is he faithful, he was a good one. I absolutely convinced myself he was 100% a traitor. That's all that was."

  • Jasmine concerned for friend Zack

Jasmine shared her concerns that the group were turning on Zack. She said Zack was one of her favourite people in the game but she could understand why people were suspicious of him. She explained in a piece to camera: "People are suspicious of Zack because he has such abstract theories."

Claudia Winkleman was impressed by three people in particular. She praised Anthony and Zack for being the last two standing in the challenge. Plus, she was extra impressed by Diane who she hailed as a "rock star". She told the group: "Special mentions to Anthony and Zack. Also Diane. Diane you are a rock star! For your information, a shield was found."

The TV host also revealed the shield had been secretly bagged during the game. She congratulated Jasmine for getting the shield which protects her from being murdered by the traitors. Jasmine is not safe from banishment, though. She added: "Congratulations to Jasmine. Jasmine please come over here. That is yours. You are protected from murder. Nobody is protected from banishment so I'll see you back at the castle for the roundtable."

  • Diane impresses the group

All of the group - traitors and faithfuls - were impressed with Diane for getting really involved in the game and for helping bank cash for the final prize pot. Traitors Harry and Paul were critical of their fellow traitor Miles during the challenge. In separate pieces to camera, both traitors had complaints about the vet for not getting involved in the game. Miles stood on the sidelines telling people where to go and trying to guide people away from the spotlight.

Paul said: "Traitor or not that's not being a team player." In the end, the group called for Miles to join in on the game. "Get involved," they shouted. Miles had no choice then but to "get his hands dirty" as Harry had put it.

  • Faithfuls voted out of the game

Within three seconds, Charlie was out of the game. "As if it wasn't embarrassing enough I was out in three seconds," she said. "There is a big spotlight on me." Andrew was out next. Mollie is the third faithful to be eliminated from the game. Zack gave his fellow gamers some advice: "Do not get caught."

  • Traitors and faithfuls team up for graveyard challenge

Darkness has fallen and the group are doing their first group task at nighttime. There was smoke and fog in a graveyard. In the mission, they could win up to £10,000 for the prize pot. They have to find the gold in the graves and crypts. The traitors and faithfuls must work together to find the tools to smash these crypts and graves to uncover the hidden gold. There is also a shield hidden within one of the graves while some graves will have nothing. Security search lights are hanging above them and they must dodge the beams - if they are caught in the lights then they are eliminated from the game.

  • Diane worries about her son Ross

Diane has set her sights on Andrew now but she has concerns she keeps hearing her son's name Ross come up. Although the mum admitted she was worried for him only because he is her real life son, not for any other reason. She said just one per cent of her feels that her son could actually be a traitor. Both Diane and Ross are faithfuls but have never openly confirmed this to each other.

As Diane hopes to catch a traitor, she begun finishing for answers from her latest suspect Andrew. "Why do you think Tracy is gone?" Diane openly questioned Andrew in front of some of the others. Andrew said he wasn't sure why she had been chosen to be murdered by the traitors.

  • Diane suspects her own son

Diane has begun to suspect her real life son Ross in the game of The Traitors. She worried that she is being kept in the game and she thinks it could be her son keeping her in. The retired teacher was very surprised to be in the game longer than Tracy, leading to her new suspicions.

  • Tracy is murdered out of the game

Tracy was voted out of the game as the traitors chose for her to be murdered. Anthony is not impressed as Zack tells him that he will be suspected now because Tracy had been very vocal about her suspicions of Anthony. Tracy thought she had been voted out because she is good at reading people's auras.
