Who is in The Traitors final?

The final episode of The Traitors season 2 is tonight. The gripping BBC reality series, fronted by Claudia Winkleman, has tempted viewers back to the overcrowded genre, but who is battling to win the cash prize?

Here are all the budding reality stars taking part in the 2024 series. We also take a look at which Faithfuls have been murdered by the Traitors as well as who has been banished from the show at the round table where the Faithfuls have the opportunity to try to root out the Traitors.

Who are the Traitors?

The Traitors must lie and deceive in order to stay hidden from the Faithfuls. They may even turn on each other. Winkleman appointed Harry, Paul and Ash as traitors in episode one. Then the trio were tasked with choosing a traitor of their own in a new twist. They recruited Miles to join the "dark side" as they continued to keep their identities secret from the Faithfuls. Each night they must dodge being banished and then choose to murder one of the Faithfuls. Ash was the first Traitor to be voted out, followed by Miles.

Paul and Harry chose Andrew to be a new traitor they could "throw under the bus" but instead Harry turned on Paul and sent him down at the roundtable. Harry and Andrew chose to recruit Ross - but didn't realise that Diane is in fact Ross' mum, leaving him out for revenge against the team who murdered her. Ross only lasted one day as a traitor.

Harry – 22, British Army engineer from Slough

What will Harry bring to the game? "Laughter, I think. Happiness and being myself. I can approach anyone, talk for ages and chat someone's ear off. My Mum says it, I’m the clumsiest but smartest guy she’s ever met. When it comes to work, I know exactly what’s going on, but when it comes to actual life and the real world, I find something new out every day. Every day is a learning curve for me to be honest. I think I'll bring a chilled out energy to the group, the one who can escape it all and remember that it’s just a game."

Andrew – 45, insurance broker from Talbot Green, South Wales

Game plan? "I sort of have a game plan. After watching the contestants last year, I think you've got to have a game plan going in there, but I do like to adapt to the situation in front of me. I have worked in close protection security, so I looked after a lot of VIPs in London. This meant I had to be on my toes, be alert, and be able to adapt at the drop of a hat. So yes, I do think you've got to have some form of game plan when you go in, but I think you've got to be able to change that as the game develops."

Who are the Faithfuls?

With almost nothing but gut instinct to go on, the Faithfuls must work out who the Traitors are that are living among them. The Faithfuls can try to earn shields to protect them from being murdered by the Traitors every night. They also have one chance a day to get rid of a Traitor by voting them out at the roundtable. However, there is always the risk that they will banish a fellow Faithful.

Evie – 29, veterinary nurse from Inverness

Game plan? "I want to be a Traitor. I think I would make a good Traitor because I look like such a Faithful. I don’t think people think I’m very mischievous, but I think that shows that I’d be really be good at it. So, I think my game plan is to let people believe those preconceptions of me, I’m blonde and I’ve got the dimples, and I work with animals and I’m sweet.

"But there is a bit of an edge to me, and it’s an edge that has actually been carved out by my career, by veterinary nursing, because it is so tough. It’s really difficult, there are a lot of emotional tolls and there’s a lot of adapting to environments, stress, long hours, everything. The Traitors is a psychological pressure cooker, but I honestly do think you could apply that to working at the vets, you really could."

Jaz – 30, national account manager from Manchester

Game plan? "Half and half. I think if you go in with a game plan then you won’t last. If I’m a Traitor, I feel as though I’m going to go in with the mindset of a Faithful so people can see my body language, they can see my eye contact, they can see everything about me and go “This guy is a Faithful. So, there’s no point even questioning him.” And that’s it, just take them out one by one."

Mollie – 21, disability model from Bristol

Game plan? "I want to make as many friends as possible. The more friends you have in there, the better. As I also work as a healthcare assistant, you do get close to people because you’re there for them and looking after them, but you have to be careful not to get too emotionally attached. I’m quite good at building that relationship but also separating myself in a way which I feel like will be really good in the game. You have to turn on people at some points, and that person could be your friend in there."

Who has been murdered?

Every night The Traitors will decide to murder one of the Faithfuls in secret at night. The Faithful who has been chosen receives a letter from the Traitors to let them know their journey is over. It is often a tactical move that allows the Traitors to get rid of Faithfuls who potentially are close to rumbling their identities or to throw people off scent.

Zack – 27, parliamentary affairs advisor from London

Zack was the last star to be murdered in the game as Andrew and Harry feared he would rumble them as traitors.

Charlie – 34, mental health area manager from Bristol

Charlie was left in tears after being murdered by Harry and Andrew, saying she found it tough not being able to say goodbye to the rest of the group.

Diane – 63, retired teacher from Lancashire

Fan favourite Diane was murdered when traitor Miles handed her the poisoned chalice and she drank the fizzy pink rose before midnight. Although she turned up at breakfast, Claudia Winkleman revealed the huge twist that the murder had taken place in plain sight and that they would perform a funeral procession. All of the traitors and faithfuls then guessed correctly that Diane had been murdered.

Meg – 22, illustrator from Herefordshire

Meg was murdered by the traitors in episode five after she had been one of the four condemned to the dungeon by the traitors. She was in with traitors Ash and Paul as well as faithful Andrew. The group chose to save Andrew so it meant Meg was the only person who could be murdered by the traitors.

Tracey – 58, sonographer and clairvoyant from Inverness

Tracey thought she was murdered by the traitors because she could be a threat as a clairvoyant.

Kyra – 21, apprentice economist from Kent

Kyra was murdered in the game and it was revealed in episode three. The traitors made the decision because of the star's outspoken character. Following the murder, she said: "I'm sad. I think with this game you have to strike a balance and I think for me I didn't strike that balance particularly well in the sense that I was too outspoken and I think that was intimidating."

Aubrey – 67, retired shop owner from Loughborough

Aubrey was the first person to be murdered by the traitors at the beginning of episode two.

Who has been banished?

The faithfuls have one chance every episode to try and find The traitors living among them. However, they don't often have a lot of evidence to go on meaning that there is always a good chance they will be sending a faithful home by accident.

Jasmine – 26, sale executive from London

Jasmine was banished in the semi-final after everyone believed she could be a traitor because of Zack's prediction. However, she was revealed to be a faithful.

Ross – 28, video director from Lancashire

Ross was the latest recruit for team traitors and he only lasted one day. He agreed but had secretly plotted to take Andrew and Harry down after his mum Diane was murdered by the traitors. Of course no one knew Diane was his mum which made it the ultimate revenge plan but he failed.

Charlotte – 32, recruitment manager from Warwickshire

Harry managed to throw suspicion on Charlotte over her close friendship with Traitor Paul, setting her up to be banished by the group. Harry came under a bit of scrutiny himself, but ultimately the rest of the Faithfuls were convinced that Charlotte was hiding something - sending home one of their own instead of a genuine Traitor.

Paul – 36, business manager from Manchester

The faithfuls captured two traitors two nights in a row. Fellow traitor Harry had planted seeds that two traitors were going after each other when Paul and Miles were rowing at the roundtable. Once Harry heard Paul had commented on him being a possible traitor, he made sure that Paul went down at the roundtable but did he give too much away about himself?

Miles – 36, veterinary nurse from Birmingham (now lives in Worcestershire)

Traitor Miles had no escape at the roundtable after Diane revealed that he had given her a drink. Mostly everyone turned on him - including his fellow traitors Paul and Harry. The traitor did try to throw people off scent and onto his fellow ally Paul but Miles was banished at the roundtable.

Anthony – 45, chess coach from Birmingham

Anthony was banished in a tense roundtable when Evie, Charlotte, Zac, Mollie, Miles, Jasmine and Ross all wrote down his name.

Jonny – 31, ex-military from Bedfordshire

Jonny was banished with almost everyone voting for him at the nail-biting roundtable in episode five. But the star stood up in front of everyone smiling and revealed he was a faithful. He said he was smiling because he was going to be going home to see his family.

Game plan? "No, I’ll make it up as I go along. I know that sounds unorganised but it’s a very organised way of thinking in my head. I think very differently and that’s the way I approach things. I’m fresh into it and if I was to be a game player, it would be on the spot based on the situation that was in front of me."

Ash – 45, events coordinator from London

Ash was the first traitor to be sent home from The Traitors after she confronted her fellow traitors Harry and Paul for turning on her. At first she had narrowly escaped being voted out when Anthony chose to vote for Brian. Emotional Ash grilled Paul and Harry over why they had decided to vote for her when they were supposed to stick together as traitors.

Then in a big twist, the traitors had to condemn four people and then murder one of them. Both traitors Ash and Paul decided to make themselves look "vulnerable" and go into the dungeon. This only cemented in people's minds that Ash was a traitor and she was sent home at the second roundtable of episode four.

Brian – 33, photographer from Glasgow

Brian was banished at a nail-biting roundtable and his exit was revealed at the beginning of episode four. The reality star had a meltdown at the roundtable after it was revealed the group thought he was the most likely to be a "sheep". Anthony had the final casting vote to send Brian home but of course it was then revealed that he was a faithful.

Sonja – 66, volunteer business mentor from Lancashire

Sonja was the first to be voted out of the reality series. When she was Banished, the Volunteer Business Mentor revealed she was in fact a Faithful.

What happens in The Traitors?

Reality TV series The Traitors is a compelling game of trust, lies and mental strength, as a group of contestants move into a castle together and are split into a large group of Faithfuls, and a much smaller group of Traitors.

The contestants take on physical and mental challenges to boost a prize pot of money for the group, which those left in the final will have the chance to win.

However, none of the Faithfuls know who the Traitors are, and if there are any Traitors left in the group by the final they will walk away with the entire prize; if they are all flushed out, the remaining Faithful contestants share it between them.

Each night, the Traitors meet in secret and decide on a contestant to "murder", who then gets their marching orders from the castle with the rest of the group discovering who is gone at breakfast the next morning.

The whole group meet every day at the round table to discuss their theories on who is a Traitor and have to vote to banish someone, who then reveals whether or not they were a Traitor.

Contestants must form alliances, but make sure not to alienate people who might vote them out, all while convincing those around them of their Faithful status - whether it is real or not.

Where is The Traitors filmed?

Viewers and contestants loved the show's stunning location, which has been used again for season two. The group set up home at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, 30 miles north of Inverness and set in a beautiful countryside location with challenges making use of the nearby lake and forests.

Contestants also took a scenic route into the show as they arrived by steam train in the first episode. The US version, hosted by Alan Cumming, filmed at Ardross Castle directly after the UK series wrapped up. Traitors superfans can even get married at the luxe castle, which is available to hire for weddings and other events.

Who won The Traitors season 1?

The Faithful were triumphant in season one's dramatic finale, which originally looked set to be scooped by Traitor Wilf Webster.

Wilf had managed to get most of the Faithful contestants on side and convinced that he was one of them, but he made a fatal mistake by deciding to recruit Kieran Tompsett to the dark side in the final days of the contest.

After becoming worried that Kieran could not hide his new Traitor status, Wilf engineered his banishment - but Kieran came uncomfortably close to breaking the rules of the game by strongly suggesting to the rest of the Faithful that Wilf had conned them.

Faithfuls Aaron Evans, Meryl Williams and Hannah Byczkowski agreed to banish Wilf and won the prize money, but in an unexpectedly emotional final scene Wilf explained how he had made sure his favourite Faithfuls stayed in until the end to give them the best chance of winning.

The Traitors season two finale airs on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 9pm on BBC One.
